This album is different—at least for me.

For the first time, I feel like I truly created a record. Let me explain.

My previous albums were written as music to be performed. The compositions were played live and then recorded. Every note you hear could be reproduced exactly as it was captured. This time, the process began somewhere else entirely. I started with sound.

Instead of writing notes first, I imagined the space they would live in—the width, the height, the depth of the mix. It felt like working on a blank canvas. Electronics and production were not added later; they were part of the creative process from the very beginning, adding an entirely new dimension to how the music came to life.

Throughout the process, I was constantly aware of the three dimensions of sound: placing elements carefully within the stereo field, organizing frequencies to give each sound its own space, and creating depth through texture and ambience. Color, space, and atmosphere came first. The notes followed.

I layered pianos to create a distinct voice for each track, played with delays and reverbs—often stacking multiple types at once—and used filters and processing on traditional orchestral instruments until they no longer sounded as they naturally do. Working this way changed how I performed. I wasn’t just playing the music; I was responding to the sounds as they came back to me, shaped and transformed.

As the title suggests, this album was inspired by the night—specifically, the tranquility and peacefulness it offers.

At a time when I felt overwhelmed by the state of my country, the world, and the personal challenges my family was facing, daily life felt chaotic and emotionally heavy. The most peaceful moments I found were during my nightly walks with my dog. We would walk along a quiet street lined with sycamore trees, perched on a hill overlooking the city lights. Away from the noise, under an infinite, star-filled sky, everything slowed down. The stillness, the darkness, and the vastness above became the foundation for this music.

I needed that peace.

So I brought the feeling of those nightly walks into my studio. Sometimes I would sit in front of the speakers, doing nothing but listening, letting the sound wash over me. Other times, I worked on headphones, starting with a drone or a binaural beat, letting it loop endlessly as I decompressed, bathing in sound.

This album became a place of refuge.

I’m deeply proud of the music I created here—a song of the night. Years ago, I might have been kicked out of music school or mocked by fellow composers. At this stage of my life, that no longer matters. Of course, I hope others connect with this music, that it speaks to them. But if some don’t like it, that’s okay too.

Beneath its apparent simplicity, Night Music may be my most complex and richly layered recording. Creating it helped me find peace, and I hope it does the same for you.

And if this album puts you to sleep, then I know I succeeded.
